The VB.NET Client

The VB Side

The actual tracking of the spam in AOL chat is done with a client program written in VB.NET. It will traverse a range of rooms and look for cham, then send the messages to another system where a Perl TCP server will process the message and store the data.

Why a separate VB.NET client?

This was the easiest way to monitor the chat, and allows for gui-based tools on the client side. This is more for potential users who want to run their own AOnode. It was also done to lessen the load on the primary network server, which is where the home client runs.
